KENTE CLOTH

Kente,  was developed in the 17th Century A.D. by the Ashanti people, it has it roots in a long tradition of weaving in Africa dating back to about 3000 B.C.
Kente is a source of common identity and pride so it is preserved for very important and special occassions such as marriage ceremonies. Chiefs also wear cloth to celebrate their festivals.
Even though it is originated from both the Ashanti and the Volta Region, it is not only worn by them  but it is recognised as a Ghanaian Traditional cloth worn by any tribe.
This is an example of a kente cloth called Fatia fata Nkrumah. This is recognised as one of the most beautiful and intricate design in the Kente world. This type is specially made and worn by royals.

  2. One problem with your blog is the profile. You don't clearly indicate who you're. It is a pity.
